Another primary requirement that most people have is the location of the apartment. This is especially true with students or professionals who have moved to the city to try their luck. They usually look for apartments that are near their schools or places of work.

Some may also take into consideration their safety and choose a place that is relatively crowded. Some may also prefer having a place where transportation is very accessible, where the subway or bus is just a few meters away.

3. Landlord and Neighbors

Of course, another consideration is the kind of landlord and the people that you will have as next door neighbours. Remember that when you get the place, you will be interacting with them almost daily. It is important then to like your neighbors, or at least be able to get along with them. Some prefer building superintendents that are amiable and helpful especially when viewing the place.

This is one characteristic that will definitely not be absent in anyone’s list. Everybody wants a big place where they can stay. Some even take into consideration the view from the place. This is also important for people who want to take in new roommates to help pay the rent.

Some will also look into the furnishings in the flat as well as the spaces allotted for different parts of the house. Still, space is often sacrificed especially if the cost is much too high.

For people with a very low budget, one way to get the apartment that they want in the location that they want is to get an apartment and share it with a roommate. Although there are some friends who already plan to live together, others find apartments who have people looking for roommates.

Because of this, one of the considerations is the kind of roommate that one will be having just in case. Among the things that one should consider are the age, the lifestyle and of course the gender. There are apartments that only admit male roommies while there are others that look for only women roommates.

There are people who actually consider the furnishings as an added bonus. This is especially true with people who have no plan for staying long in the area such as the case with a student. For these people investing in furniture when they have no plans to stay is impractical.
